I was unable to run the competition this year because I was not sure which venues were going to go ahead with shows this summer, BUT please join us again in
January of 2023!

About

For the past eight years, the Okanagan Singer-Songwriter (OKSS) competition has provided an opportunity for musicians to perform in a welcoming environment. Every style of music has been touched upon during these past years.

The OKSS, formerly known as the Lake Country Open Mic Has Talent!, was designed to spotlight an original singer-songwriter and to give them an opportunity to record their original song, as well as perform at venues and events throughout the Okanagan.

Three years ago, the competition rose to a new level by collaborating with the LegionHQ - a group with one purpose: to promote the growth of musical creation and industry in the Okanagan. This partnership has helped grow our prize collection, and put us in the position to help not only one winner, but many!

Kyle Haynes

A familiar face in the Okanagan Music Scene since 2005 as a multi-instrumental performer, session musician, and producer /engineer /composer. He records and produces tracks for a large variety of artists in his recording studio (Kyle Haynes Music Studios,) and is compiling his own lengthy back-catalogue of original material, soon to be released. Kyle is Founder and CEO of ‘LEGION Music Group,’ which prides themselves in both finding and providing opportunities for artists and musicians, as well as building and expanding a network of creative individuals and industry professionals.
